Wrights woman remains in fair condition after crash
The condition of an 85-year-old Wrights woman who was seriously injured in a crash Monday on U.S. 67 has been upgraded.
Gloria J. Latham, 85, remained in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on Tuesday, where her condition was listed as fair.
She was flown to the hospital after being partially ejected from her van and having to be extricated after her vehicle and a pickup truck pulling a trailer collided on U.S. 67 at Berdan Road.

• Joseph A. Peacock, 32, of Lincoln was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 10:08 p.m. Monday on a charge of driving while license is revoked or suspended and on an unspecified warrant.
• Bethany J. Browning, 31, of 24 Timberview Road, Franklin, was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 10:44 p.m. on a charge of resisting a peace officer.
• Jessica S. Ulery, 35, of 386 Kimber St., Waverly, was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 11:09 p.m. Monday on charges of domestic battery and violating parole.
• Travis J. Buss, 22, of 42 Hatfield Road, Meredosia, was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of driving while license is revoked or suspended.

ACCIDENTS
• Anna K. Stewart, 18, of Jacksonville was cited for failing to yield after a two-vehicle accident about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at North Sandy Street and West Douglas Avenue.
Police said Stewart was driving south on North Sandy Street when her vehicle and an eastbound vehicle being driven by John E. Greeling, 71, of rural Jacksonville collided.

• Tyler J. Roberson, 21, of Hillsboro was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 2:32 a.m. Monday on a charge of criminal trespass to state land after police said he was in Turner High Rise after being served a no-trespassing order.
• Randy L. Rayes, 50, of 801 S. Kosciusko St. was arrested about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of violating an order of protection.
FIRES
• Fire extensively damaged a guest room Tuesday at the Comfort Inn in South Jacksonville.
South Jacksonville firefighters were called at 10:28 a.m. to a report of a fire in room 115 of the hotel. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke throughout the hotel. “The hotel’s sprinkler system extinguished the fire before we arrived,” Fire Chief David Hickox said. “The room was occupied, but the occupants had left to go shopping.”
Hickox added that Jacksonville firefighters used a dry chemical to douse some smoldering material on a table in the room. He said firefighters are not sure how the fire started, but they know it centered around the table.
The state fire marshal was called to do further investigation.
