ACCIDENTS

• A Jacksonville man was injured about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday when his vehicle hit a house on Mount Zion Road northwest of Jacksonville.

Emerald S. Dixon, 21, was taken to Passavant Area Hospital for treatment.

A sheriff’s department report said Dixon was driving west on Mount Zion Road when his vehicle spun out of control in gravel, went through a yard and struck a residence at 1731 Mount Zion Road.

Dixon was cited on charges of failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Jacksonville Police

ARRESTS, CITATIONS

• Mary A. Cathers, 41, of 105 Cottage Lane, Murrayville, was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 1:18 a.m. Wednesday on a battery charge.

• Teeya J. Jones, 19, of St. Louis, Missouri, was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday on retail theft charges.

• Harold L. Hankins, 69, of 404 W. Reid St. was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

ACCIDENTS

• Norma J. Robinson, 81, of Jacksonville was cited for failure to yield after police say she turned in front of a vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old girl at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday at Jordan Street and North Prairie Street.

No injuries were reported.

VANDALISM

• A vehicle was damaged with key marks and two slashed tires while it was parked in the 300 block of East State Street between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Wednesday, according to a report filed at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday.
