• Holly L. Goers, 42, of 916 E. Lafayette Ave. was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 3:21 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Chad A. Rose, 28, of Murphysboro was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 3:36 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

ACCIDENTS

• A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl crashed into a ditch in the 200 block of East Oak Street about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. She was cited on a charge of having too many passengers.

• Bethany A. Schultz, 37, of Barry was arrested about 7:45 p.m. June 3 on a deceptive practices charge and a Calhoun County warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court.

• Someone stole a television set about 11 p.m. Thursday from a residence in the 800 block of North Clay Avenue.

• Someone stole a toolbox and some tools overnight Thursday from a vehicle in the 800 block of North Main Street. The items were valued at $640.

• Sometime between 4 a.m. Wednesday and 10:30 p.m. Thursday, medication was taken from Aperion Care.

ACCIDENTS

• A Girard man was injured Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident about 5:35 p.m. at the intersection of North Main Street and Wolcott Street.

Tyler W. Cole, 33, of Girard was transported to Passavant Area Hospital where he was in stable condition Friday evening.

Kristina G. Dugan, 33, of Jacksonville was cited for failure to yield at a stopped intersection after the vehicle she was driving hit a vehicle being driven by Nicholas D. Mayberry, 34, of Jacksonville. Cole was a passenger in vehicle being driven by Mayberry.

No other injuries were reported.

Tools valued at $500 were taken from a garage in the 700 block of North Main Street.

• Patrick A. Edwards, 40, of Jacksonville was treated at Passavant Area Hospital after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car on East College Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

THEFTS, BURGLARIES

• A resident of the 1700 block of Gravel Springs Road told deputies at 10:22 p.m. Saturday that someone stole about $1,500.

• Dana J. Ezell, 27, of 750 E. Chambers St., Apt. 16, was arrested at 8:47 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving with a suspended license after police said he was seen driving in the 200 block of West Morton Avenue.

• Kaitlin C. Meier, 19, of 1261 S. East St., Apt. A, was arrested after a traffic stop on Main Street at 9:17 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also was cited on a charge of disobeying a traffic control device.

• A 14-year-old boy was arrested on a domestic battery charge about 10:20 p.m. Saturday after he was reported to have struck his mother when she confronted him about money that was taken from another person. He also was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Andrew J. Colliver, 50, of 1144 S. Main St. was arrested at 9:11 p.m. Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge after being accused of being intoxicated while at On the Rox at 219 S. Main St. and starting an argument with others.

VANDALISM

• A vending machine at 502 W. College Ave. was damaged between 11:30 a.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

• Michael Dale Osborne, 30, of 140 Frog Hill Road, Franklin, was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 7:45 p.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged after a traffic stop on South Miller Street at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, according to police reports.

• Someone stole a wallet containing $100 and two credit cards from a vehicle in the 100 block of South Webster Avenue between June 7 and 1 p.m. Tuesday.

• Someone stole two bicycles from a residence in the 800 block of Nottingham Lane sometime between 6 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.

VANDALISM

• Sometime between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, someone pushed over a motorcycle in the 700 block of South Fayette Street.

ACCIDENTS

• Patrick E. Thacker, 22, of Jacksonville was cited for failure to yield after he turned and the vehicle he was driving hit a vehicle being driven by Dana L. Wallace, 46, of Ashland about 5 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Sandusky and Walnut streets.

No injuries were reported.

ACCIDENTS

• Three people were treated for minor injuries Tuesday after a five-vehicle crash on U.S. 67 near Illinois Route 103.

According to an Illinois State Police report, Terry J. Miller, 55, of Virginia was going south on U.S. 67, south of Beardstown, and did not see traffic stopped at a bridge for construction. His vehicle struck a sport utility vehicle driven by Cheri McMurl, 21, of Beardstown, which caused it to strike the rear of a vehicle being driven by Halie Runner, 18, of Sciota, which caused it to strike the rear of a car being driven by Rebecca Ham, 38, of Mount Sterling, which caused it to strike the rear of a vehicle being drive by Loraine Shafer, 25, of Rushville.

Jackie Robinson, 42, of Rushville, a passenger in McMurl’s SUV, was taken to Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, as were 8-year-old and 12-year-old boys who were passengers in Ham’s car, according to police.

Miller was issued a failure to reduce speed citation.

• A bicycle was taken from a home in the 300 block of East Morton Avenue sometime overnight Thursday.

ACCIDENTS

• Albert M. Lushima, 47, of Jacksonville was cited for improper lane usage and leaving the scene of an accident after a the vehicle he was driving struck a parked vehicle about 6:29 a.m. Friday on Greenbriar.

No injuries were reported.

• Three people were arrested Friday after entering a vacant apartment in the 100 block of West Chambers Street. Marissia D. Lacy, 18, of 147 W. Chambers St., Dana J. Ezell, 27, of 750 E. Chambers St. Apt. 16, and a 17-year-old girl were arrested about 11:40 p.m. Friday on charges of criminal trespass to property.

BURGLARIES, THEFTS

• An iPod was taken sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday from a vehicle parked in 1000 block of King Street.

ACCIDENTS

• Two people were cited following a two-vehicle accident about 10:49 p.m. Friday at Lafayette Avenue and Sandusky Street.

A 16-year-old girl was cited for improper lane usage after she began turning left, before quickly turning right, causing a vehicle being driven by Patricia A. Baker, of Jacksonville to hit the right front fender of the car the girl was driving.

Baker was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Baker complained of leg pain but refused treatment.

• A Waverly man was treated for minor injuries after a single-vehicle accident about 12:20 p.m. Sunday, according to deputies.

Trenton L. McHatton, 21, of Waverly was going north on Outing Club Road in Franklin when his vehicle went into gravel and then off the road, where it struck a power pole and then overturned.

• Two people were arrested at 8:35 p.m. Saturday after police investigated a report of illegal activity taking place at an East Morton Avenue residence.

David E. Swarringin, 25, of 800 Illinois Ave., Apt. 1, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug equipment after police said they found three pipes commonly used to smoke cannabis.

Keith E. Collins, 25, of 1033 E. Morton Ave., Unit 13, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment after police said they found heroin and drug paraphernalia.

• Rachel N. Viviano, 35, of 815 W. College Ave. was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 12:50 p.m. Sunday on a retail theft charge.

• Rand Burnette, 79, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of improper lane use about noon Sunday after a two-vehicle accident in the 1600 block of West Morton Avenue.

Police said Burnette’s vehicle and a vehicle being driven by Robert A. Winkelman, 43, of Fredericktown, Missouri, collided as Burnette was changing lanes.

No injuries were reported.

Teresa J. Schinall, 49, was injured after the vehicle she was riding in, driven by Rusty L.Flanigan, 58, of Jacksonville was struck by a vehicle being driven by Jackie R. Poole, 35, of South Jacksonville.

No citations were issued and no other injuries were reported.

ACCIDENTS

• A Mozier man was injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Pike County.

Lonnie Brady, age unavailable, of Mozier was injured when the vehicle he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a vehicle being driven by Trevor Helkey, age unavailable, of Pittsfield about 1:45 p.m. Friday near Spring Lake Road near County Road 140th Avenue, according to an Illinois State Police report.

Brady was flown to a St. Louis hospital.

Brady was cited on a charge of improper lane use. His condition Saturday was unavailable.

• Michael T. Wardell, 24, of 27 Greenbriar Drive was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 1:27 a.m. Sunday on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and resisting a peace officer.

Jacksonville Police

ARRESTS, CITATIONS

• Helyne F. Wiser, 30, of 320 Pine St. was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 4:13 p.m. Sunday on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, being an unlicensed driver, improper lane use, driving under the influence and squealing or screeching of tires.

She was accused of being involved in an accident about 5:43 a.m. Sunday in which a truck went into the ditch several times before striking a power pole on Lafayette Avenue near Pine Street, according to police reports.

• Everett G. Cade, 24, of 908 Allen Ave. was arrest at 3:38 p.m. Sunday on a Department of Corrections warrant accusing him of violating probation on a criminal sexual assault charge.

• Joseph K. Gibson, 24, of 330 W. Dunlap St. was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 8:51 p.m. Saturday on a home invasion charge.

• Cyrstan L. Courier, 29, of Girard was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 5:28 p.m. Saturday on a battery charge.

• Justin W. Heaton, 23, of 1506 S. East St. was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 2:51 p.m. Monday on a charge of battery.

BURGLARIES, THEFTS

• Sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday someone stole an air conditioner, television and video game console from a residence in the 300 block of East Wolcott Street.

• Sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday a rear license plate was stolen from a car parked in the 100 block of Howe Street.

• Brent B. Boyd, 32, of 413 N. Prairie St. was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday on warrants accusing him of failing to appear in court on charges of driving under the influence, possession of cannabis and driving while license is revoked or suspended.

• Casondra N. Long, 25, of 124 W. Independence Ave. was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 1:05 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a charge of resisting a peace officer.

BURGLARIES, THEFTS

• Someone stole a .45-caliber gun valued at $1,100 from a home in Regent Estates around July 4, according to a report filed about 8:25 a.m. Tuesday.

• Someone stole a safe containing three guns and $600 cash from a home on Illinois Route 267 Tuesday morning. The safe later was found on Frog Hill Road.

Jacksonville Police

ACCIDENTS

• A 17-year-old boy was cited on charges of driving without a license and improper backing after a two-vehicle accident in the 800 block of North Clay Avenue about 8:40 p.m. Monday.

The teen was cited after the vehicle he was driving struck a parked vehicle occupied by Dennis R. Rattler, 41, of Jacksonville.

Rattler complained of a leg injury but declined treatment, according to a police report.

• Jonathan D. Edwards, 31, of New Berlin was cited on a charge of failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after the vehicle he was driving hit the rear of a vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old girl about 7:20 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of South Main Street.

No injuries were reported.

• Gary E. Large, 50, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of disobeying a traffic control device after a two-vehicle accident about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at South Main Street and Morton Avenue.

Police said Large’s vehicle collided with the back bumper of a vehicle being driven by Gerald T. Jacobsmeyer, 63, of O’Fallon.

No injuries were reported.

• Jennifer M. Eller, 30, of 1233 Center St. was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 1:35 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a charge of possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.

• Tanista J. Knight, 30, of Bluffs was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of driving while license is revoked or suspended.

South Jacksonville Police

BURGLARIES, THEFTS

• Someone stole a gun from a vehicle between 3 p.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of West Morton Avenue.

• A Dewalt drill was stolen from a vehicle on Victoria Lane during the past week, according to a report filed about 4:55 p.m. Tuesday.

• Jasinto R. Cobo, 31, of Pittsfield was arrested at 6:01 a.m. Sunday on an aggravated battery charge.

• Cory D. Howland, 32, of Nebo was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license is suspended or revoked, defective windshield, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

• Anthony W. Waters, 36, of Pittsfield was arrested at 12:41 a.m. June 6 on charges of violating an order of protection and criminal trespass to a residence.

• Spencer J. Cooper, 23, of Elkhart, Indiana, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. June 5 on charges of driving while license is suspended or revoked, possession of cannabis, unlawful use of a weapon and speeding.

• Randy L. Carpenter, 64, of Pearl was arrested at 8:35 p.m. June 5 on a domestic battery charge.

CORRECTION

A vehicle being driven by Rusty L. Flanigan, 58, of South Jacksonville was struck by a vehicle being driven by Jackie R. Poole, 35, of South Jacksonville about 5 p.m. Friday at South Clay and East Morton avenues. Part of the narrative about the accident was incorrect and Flanigan was misidentified in Saturday’s Police Beat.

• Laron E. Chisolm, 25, of 1727 E. Morgan St., Springfield, was arrested about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance.

• Shannan D. Miller, 39, of 605 Locust Dr. was booked into the Morgan County Jail about 7:26 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of filing a false report of an offense.

BURGLARIES, THEFTS

• Someone stole a vape box between 1 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday from a residence in the 400 block of South East Street.

VANDALISM

• Someone scratched three vehicles around June 28 in the 400 block of South Clay Avenue, according to a report filed about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

ACCIDENTS

• Angel M. Privia, 38, of Jacksonville was cited for improper lane usage after the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line and hit a vehicle being driven by Marci A. Morriss, 41, of Jacksonville about 2:35 at College Avenue and Diamond Street.

South Jacksonville Police

Firefighters battle a fire Wednesday in the attic of the residence of Nicholas Savage at 921 E. College Ave. A Jacksonville Fire Department report said Savage was home when a tree limb fell onto a power line shortly before 9 a.m., pulling it from the house. Savage told firefighters the power went out, came back on and then he saw smoke and then flames. About $75,000 damage was done to the house and $10,000 damage to its contents, according to the fire department. Jacksonville firefighters were assisted by the South Jacksonville Fire Department. Firefighters were on the scene for two and a half hours. No injuries were reported.
