Two seriously hurt in grain truck crash
Two people suffered serious injuries Tuesday when their car struck a grain truck on U.S. 54 near Illinois Route 96 in Pike County.
According to Illinois State Police, Bobby Dillion, 42, of Detroit was going east on U.S. 54 when his car left the road and struck the parked grain truck about 8:25 p.m.
Dillion was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. A passenger,Tammy Fox. 55, of Detroit, was flown to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Dillion was cited on a charge of improper lane use, according to police reports.

• Randall D. Hosford, 52, of Alton was lodged in the Morgan County Jail at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday on charges of having no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

• Ashley S.N. Fritsche, 21, of 738 N. East St. was arrested about 11:05 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of obstructing justice and on a Pike County warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
• A 9-year-old boy was arrested about 11:18 a.m. Wednesday on an aggravated battery charge after he allegedly hit a teacher at Garrison Alternative School.

• A laptop was taken from a home in the 600 block of South Church Street, according to a report filed about 11:46 a.m. Wednesday.
• Several Christmas decorations were taken from a home on Sunset Drive, according to a report filed about 4:02 p.m. Wednesday.
