BB gun taken at JHS, but no harm intended

Jacksonville High School administrators confiscated a BB gun from a student Thursday, but said it does not appear there was any plan of hurting anyone at the school.

Principal Mike McGiles said the student was interviewed and “we do not believe there was any intent to harm anyone nor were students in any danger.”

He said it appeared to be an isolated incident.

School officials are discussing the appropriate disciplinary consequences, McGiles said.
