White Hall man facing charges following assault

A White Hall man was charged with aggravated domestic battery after being accused of trying to strangle a woman in Bethalto on Saturday.

Cory A. Gray, 36, was charged Thursday.

He was being held Thursday in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Other details about the reported incident were unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

• Dylan M. Kluge, 24, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of improper turning after a two-vehicle accident about 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Park and West State streets.

Police said Kluge’s vehicle turned south onto Park Street and struck a northbound vehicle being driven by R. Todd Davis, 52, of Jacksonville.

• Brandon L. Hazel, 24, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of following too closely after a two-vehicle accident about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Morton Avenue.

Police said Hazel was driving west on West Morton Avenue when his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle being driven by Derek S. McGowen, 19, of rural Carrollton.

ARRESTS, CITATIONS

• Charles B. Slagle, 25, of 937 Edgehill Road was booked into the Morgan County Jail at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday on charges of driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and having an expired registration.

• Brooke R. Johnson, 26, of 403 Anna St. was arrested about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis.

• Travis D. Matthews, 40, of 822 N. Clay Ave. was arrested about 6:20 a.m. Thursday on a charge of violating an order of protection.

• Brian L. White, 30, of 477 S. East St. was arrested about 9:50 a.m. Thursday on a charge of driving while license suspended.
